This introductory course examines the major physical, psycho social, and cognitive/language development milestones for children, both typical and atypical, from conception through adolescence. Emphasis on interactions between maturation processes and environmental factors. While studying developmental theory and investigative research methodologies, students observe children, evaluate individual differences, and analyze the characteristics of development of various stages.
