COURSE FORMAT – NAVIGATING OUR COURSE

To help you navigate our online course please be reminded as stated in the Syllabus each week your online assignments are found in Canvas within the “Module” section.

The entire course is segmented into Modules (WEEKLY MODULES). Each Module corresponds with a Chapter in your assigned textbook.

Typically, each Weekly Module the following information is arranged sequentially. To ensure you access each of the instructions, guidance and do not miss any of the required assignments within the Modules work through the Modules in this sequence:

Read the “What Will I Learn What Will I Know” overview of the week’s topic
Review the Chapter Learning Objectives and Standards
Read the assigned chapter of the book
Review any content that is included in the Module (PowerPoints, videos, handouts)
Join and respond to weekly Discussion Boards – these are graded assignments with deadlines for initial response and two replies

NOTE: You must post your response by Thursday, 11:59 PM

NOTE: You must post two replies to class-mates response by Sunday, 11:59 PM

Complete the Chapter Video Analysis from Mindtap
Complete the Chapter Quizzes: “Did I Get It?” and “Wrapping It Up” from Mindtap
Complete any assignments as listed in the Module. (Review materials associated to the assignment – instructions, handouts and examples)

PLEASE COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENTS ACCORDING TO THE SEQUENCE WITHIN THE MODULE SO YOU DO NOT SKIP OR MISS ASSIGNMENTS AND DUE DATES

I will be surveying everyone in our course a week prior to when paper assignments will begin to determine if a ZOOM MEETING will be helpful to review and discuss the following papers: (a) Parenting Book Review and the KAP Form; (b) Issue affecting children’s socialization; (c) Community Resources Directory; and (d) My Socialization Framework. Since our class is asynchronous, for those who cannot join, if there is a ZOOM MEETING it will be recorded and accessible to all within the Module “Recorded Zoom Meetings”.
