Assignment Policies: Late Assignments/Make-Up/Canvas Submissions/Rubrics

  1. Participation, Exams, Papers, and Presentations CANNOT be made up, unless you have a verifiable medical or legal emergency.
  2. Due Dates: All assignments are due on the due dates, as indicated in Canvas.
  3. Average Course Time Per Week: Plan on spending a minimum of 4-5 hours for this course per week.
  4. Assignment Submissions: It is the student's responsibilityto ensure that the assignment/file(s) submitted are whole/entire/viewable, so make sure you test what you have submitted.
    1. The instructor will not verify each of your submissions. If you can see the assignment as “Submitted” in your Canvas portal, then so can the instructor.
    2. Video links must be “Unlisted” or “Public” to be viewed by the instructor and/or other students. If the video is marked “Private” when the instructor is attempting to view/grade the assignment, it will be given a score of “0”.
    3. File formats must be Microsoft or PC compatible. All MAC/iPhone formats need to be submitted in PC/Microsoft formats.
    4. Cloud-based links to assignment submissions are not allowed other than Youtube.com or Loom.com. Google Docs, Samsung Cloud, or Apple-related cloud systems are not allowed.
    5. Submissions must be made in the Canvas system; any other means (email, Canvas Inbox, Assignment comments) will not be accepted.
  5. If rubrics are attached to an assignment, the rubric will be used to calculate the final grade of an assignment. The student is responsible for ensuring their assignment satisfies all the requirements of BOTH the assignment description, instructions, and the rubric requirements for full credit.
