A big part of successful pitching is knowing yourself. You often hear coaches tell players to "stay within yourself." Everyone agrees that it's important, but what does that mean?

Staying within yourself means doing what you are cable of doing and not trying to do "too much." The key to staying "within yourself" is to know your capabilities, your strengths and weaknesses, and what type of pitcher you are. Only then you are in position to know if you are "within yourself."

If you are not a pitcher, answer these questions into terms of in throwing the ball at different angles or at different positions.
