Instructions

I trust you to not take or share the exam with others, to do your own work, to not cheat, and to not use the internet for answers during the exam.

  • The exam will be available from 9:00 am-10:00 am only on your exam day. (I have office Hours 8:00 to 9:00am)
  • You have 40 minutes for this exam, it has just 20 multiple choice questions. I omitted the two pages of "free response" that you usually have on my exams, that is why the exam is 40 minutes instead of 50 minutes.
  • It is OPEN Book and open notes!! See note below.
  • To go to the next question, click on NEXT, not submit. You may toggle between questions and back to change an answer by using the Previous and Next buttons before you submit. The exam is locked once you submit or the time is up.
  • You will see your score but not which ones you got right or wrong. I will open that right answers about 2 days after the exam ends.
  • To be clear: Use your time wisely, the exam will close after 40 minutes or 10:00 am, whichever comes first.
  • Unlike the practice quiz, you do not have multiple attempts.

GOOD LUCK!

What do I mean by open note and open book?

This is a class on chemistry knowledge and skills, it is not a class on computer or internet searching skills. Your score on the exam is to reflect your mastery and knowledge of chemistry material, not how well and how fast you can look it up. The more you study, practice and learn, the easier the exam questions will be, and you will have plenty of time for the exam.

Open Note: Only notes you have created by studying the material, not something you find on the internet and simply downloaded. No searching the internet for answers to questions on the exam while you take the exam.

Open Book: You may use only a hard copy of the textbook or use the notes you wrote from reading the text as you studied.

Again, once you start the exam, you may not navigate away from the exam to go to a different site.  You may not also have opened another electronic device such as another computer, a tablet, or your phone to reference while you take the exam.

You are not to give help nor receive help from others for the exam.

Only registered, enrolled users can take graded quizzes
